Ellen Van Eetvelde is a consultant colorectal surgeon at UZ Brussel and a clinical lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. Her main interests are robotic colorectal surgery, colorectal cancer, oncogeriatric care, and surgical training. As a certified proctor and host for case observations for robotic colorectal surgery she has trained many national and international colorectal surgeons in robotics. She is a founding member of the RBSS Robotic Surgery Working Group which has set up a national robotic training program for general surgery trainees in Belgium. She is an active member of the Colorobotica group from the European Society of Coloproctology which provides a pan-European robotic training program for colorectal surgeons. Currently she is the European Society of Coloproctology’s Belgian national representative.
